Bee One

This summer brought yet more traveling!

We went back to Kentucky in July for Uncle Mike and Aunt Michelle's
Shower and spent a week on Grandmommy's boat with her and
Cousin Luke, Aunt Allie and Uncle Syed.

Then in August, Mommy went into the hospital for some tummy pain and spent her first night away from Christian and we almost didn't go to Alaska. But with the help from her OB's office, she was on the mend quickly and we all packed up and headed to Alaska.

We spent a week, homebased in Anchorage, where our friends Kenneth and Danielle were living. Danielle was 8 months pregnant with their first baby girl. Chance arrived a few days into the trip. We spent many fun days exploring the state. The guys went deep sea fishing where they fished for halibut. Chance caught the first fish, but Karl caught the biggest. And luckily, every caught their limit. They were going to fish for salmon, but the halibut tired them out. The girls and Christian went on a day-cruise out of Whitier, AL, which was a secret town that the government built during the cold-war.

Then it came time to leave, we packed up everything and headed to the airport, where we walked in and were told that ALL flights have been cancelled due to a volcano eruption in the Aleutian Islands. We spent several hours and days, trying to get Karl home first and then Christian and I, but we were very unlucky, until Karl and I both called United and Alaskan Airlines on our cell phones and had the ticket agent talking to one another by putting our cell phones together. But we got on a flight together, just a couple days later than planned.

Shortly after leaving, Kenneth and Danielle welcomed their baby girl, Elizabeth Fay and found out they needed to move to Las Vegas. So now instead of a 6 hour flight, they are a 12 hour drive.
